Why We Love Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

A LovingBirths Partner Spotlight: Crew Chiropractic

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Mallory and Crew Chiropractic to our LovingBirths families and connect you with another wonderful local resource for pregnancy and beyond.

And this partnership is going beyond the blog! On October 31, Crew Chiropractic will host our LovingBirths Group Childbirth Class in Alpharetta, bringing together comprehensive childbirth education, hands-on birth preparation, and the opportunity for local families to become familiar with a practice that supports women throughout pregnancy.

We love creating connections like this because preparing for birth isn’t just about what happens once labor begins. It’s about building knowledge, caring for your body, and surrounding yourself with good support along the way.

We’re so excited to have Crew Chiropractic be part of that.

Why We Love Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

By Dr. Mallory

Pregnancy asks a lot of your body.

Over the course of 40 weeks, your belly grows, your center of gravity changes, your posture shifts, and your muscles and ligaments are constantly adjusting to make room for your growing baby. And while your body was absolutely designed to adapt to these changes, that doesn't mean it always happens comfortably.

That's one of the biggest reasons we love chiropractic care throughout pregnancy.

The goal isn't just to help with back pain or hip pain—although we definitely love helping with those things! The bigger goal is to help your body stay adaptable as your pregnancy progresses.

And here's where baby comes into the picture.

As baby grows, they need space to move, wiggle, and eventually settle into a good position for birth. When mom's pelvis is moving well and there isn't unnecessary tension throughout the surrounding muscles and tissues, we're helping create an environment where baby has the space they need to find a comfortable position.

This is also why we love when moms start chiropractic care earlier in pregnancy rather than waiting until the last few weeks.

Chiropractic adjustments aren't physically "turning" your baby. Instead, we're working with mom's body—supporting pelvic mobility, reducing areas of tension, and helping her body continue adapting as baby grows.

Think about preparing for birth like preparing for a marathon.

You wouldn't wake up on race day and decide, Okay, I guess it's time to start training!

You would spend months preparing your body. You'd work on your strength, mobility, endurance, recovery, hydration, and nutrition so that when race day finally came, your body was ready.

Birth is no different.

We don't want to wait until 39 weeks to start thinking about how your body is functioning. We want to support it throughout pregnancy so that when labor begins, you've already spent months preparing.

When mom is comfortable and moving well, she can often stay more active throughout pregnancy. When her pelvis is moving well, we're helping create a supportive environment for baby to move and settle into position. And when the body has been supported throughout pregnancy, we're giving mom a strong foundation heading into labor and postpartum recovery.

That doesn't mean chiropractic care guarantees the "perfect" birth, a specific baby position, or a certain labor length. Birth has a lot of variables! But it does mean we're doing what we can throughout pregnancy to help mom's body move, adapt, and prepare for the big day.

Because pregnancy isn't just about growing a baby.

It's also about preparing a mom's body for birth.

And chiropractic care can be one of the tools that helps you prepare along the way.
